School Bus Drivers One of the requirements to be a school bus driver is to take a 30-hour classroom course. LPSB Transportation Department will be offering courses in the future--dates and times will be posted on the LPSB website, Suddenlink's Channel 20, and in the local newspaper. Please have any and all coaches and teachers that need to be driving for your respective schools call the transportation office to register for an upcoming course. This course is a Department of Education mandate so it may hold up someone from being certified to drive. If you enjoy children and want to have a job that provides service to our school system, we are in need of substitute bus drivers. This job can work into a full time position. Having a CDL license will help you in the process of getting certified.
