Message from the Principal:

It is with great pride that I welcome you to Glen View Elementary. Our mission is to provide a safe and exciting learning environment. We are confident that Glen View will be a school where your child feels respected and cared for as an individual as he or she learns responsibility and gains academic skills. The Glen View faculty is highly qualified and committed to providing educational excellence for all students.

I am thrilled to begin my second year at Glen View. After a busy summer schedule full of planning and anticipation, I am eager to begin collaborating with staff, students, parents, and community members. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation already established at Glen View. We believe all children can achieve at high levels, and they deserve our best efforts on a daily basis. Our staff, however, cannot accomplish this task alone. On-going collaboration between the home and school is essential to both your child’s academic and social success. We invite you to become involved in Glen View so together we can demonstrate to your child the value and importance of a successful school life. We would love to have you volunteer at our school or help at one of the many school functions throughout the school year. Please stop by the office any time to find out how we can work together to enrich the lives of all Glen View Gators.

                                                                                           Most sincerely,

                                                                                           Lisa Mangum, Principal

This is important for all students, however, it is critical for new students to the parish, and students going into Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 6th grades. Failure to comply with the immunization requirements as set by LA State Law will result in your child’s exclusion from school until such requirements are met. DO NOT WAIT! Past years have demonstrated that parents/ guardians who wait until just before the new school year starts have had difficulty getting appointments when needed. In addition, clinics and doctors' offices often run out of vaccine.

Will your student require medications while at school?  In general, all medications given at school are limited to those which cannot be given before or after school and must have a doctor’s order.  Please click on the "capsule" to learn more about the requirements set down by the Louisiana State Law (R.S. 17:436, Act 87) and the Lincoln Parish School Board concerning medication administration in public schools.

2014-2015 SAMPLE TEST QUESTIONS:  In order to ensure Louisiana students are prepared for college and Louisiana's economy, our state is moving to higher standards and new assessments.  The Louisiana Department of Education will highlight one sample question each day to help Louisiana educators and families preview Louisiana's new 2014-15 assessments.  These new assessments were developed with significant input from Louisiana educators who have served as key partners in identifying content for the test, developing the specific items, and guiding the technology specifications.  Click on the following link to access the sample "Question of the Day!"
